Amazing Youtube Videos to Help You Keep Dancing at Home

Although we have to stay at home right now, that doesn't mean us dancers have to stop or slow down our training! If anything, this is a great time to build up your technique and work on aspects of dance you struggle with. That being said, I thought I would share some of my favorite Youtube videos that I have been regularly using to keep dancing. I promise, these videos are guaranteed to expand your dance ability and keep you smiling throughout the day!

New York City Ballet Workout Videos

This workout series by the famous New York City Ballet is one of my favorite dance workouts. It is composed of two videos, both of which can be found on Youtube. The workout focuses on stretching and strengthening exercises geared towards creating a strong ballet foundation. In addition, the workout is composed of a fantastic center barre that pushes your technique to the limits. Also, at the end of  the volume 2 video, there is a special bonus combo you can learn to amp up your performance level!

National Dutch Ballet - Online Ballet Series

Over the past few months, the National Dutch Ballet has released many ballet barre videos for dancers to use at home. The series is composed of both classic ballet barre and center barre videos, all of which will challenge your dance ability to continuously grow and improve. Overall, these videos are a great way to get in a good, classic ballet class from right at home!

Kathryn Morgan Videos

I recently discovered Kathryn Morgan's videos while looking for some new ballet workouts on Youtube, and I totally fell in love with her barre videos. Morgan is currently a soloist with the Miami City Ballet, and her Youtube channel is chalk-full of dance workouts, many of which are actually made to do at home. Another plus is her amazing teaching skills - I always learn something valuable while taking her classes online.

Sweaty Betty Ballet Bootcamp Encore Workout

If you are looking for a more cardio-inducing dance workout, this is the one for you! Sweaty Betty has multiple fitness workouts, from yoga to strength training, but this one rings as my absolute favorite. This particular workout pushes your technique while also spiking your heartbeat to get in a good cardio workout - it is the ultimate ballet-cardio fusion. As dancers, we can't forget about cardio to help build up our stamina, which allows our dancing to look effortless onstage! If you like this workout, definitely take a look at the other ballet workouts on Sweaty Betty's Youtube channel - they are all guaranteed to get you sweating, that's for sure!
